Thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel, obstructing the blood flow of the cardiovascular system. Human papillomavirus (HPV) has been identified as the leading cause of cervical cancer in women, as well as a growing risk factor in oropharyngeal cancer.
