The 4th Joint Conference of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology and Association for General and Applied Microbiology was held in Dresden, Germany from October 5th to 8th, 2014.

The conference is one of the major microbiology conferences in Germany, and approximately 1,500 people from various fields in Europe participated in the conference, including hygiene, microbiology, immunology, infection diseases, toxicology, virology, tropical medicine, and zoology field. This year, the conference was especially held jointly by the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM) and the Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM).
