The Korean Society of Pathologists 2011 was held at the Seoul Education Culture Center from May 12 -13. Seegene presented its BRAF somatic mutation detection test.
This BRAF mutation (V600E) uses thyroid tissue from papillary thyroid carcinoma and detects the relevant BRAF gene mutation by PCR-based Molecular Diagnostics. The detection of V600E allows for an early diagnosis of suspected Thyroid cancer and can also be utilized in monitoring the status of the patient after the surgery.
