2011 The Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine was held iat the Dajeon Convention Center from April 25 to 26. Seegene focused on promoting the Magicplex TB/MDR product which simultaneously detects tuberculosis and multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. In addition Seegene unveiled the LabChip DX, an automation system, which has the ability to handle large numbers of specimens.

Unlike other conventional MDR tests, which normally take at least 4 weeks to see results the Magicplex TB/MDR enables results within 4 hours. This allows for early diagnosis and early initiation of proper treatments. The LabChip Dx is a chip-based automatic electrophoresis instrument that does not require unnecessary processes such as dilution of the sample after the DNA amplification. In addition, it maximizes specimen throughput and shortens the test time. These features of Magicplex TB/MDR and the LabChip Dx attracted the interest of many doctors. DNA extraction automation SEEPREP 12, and Real-time PCR amplification instrument AB 7500 were displayed at booth as well.

Seegene also provided hot teas and coffees at the cafeteria for doctors who visiting Seegene’s booth and a place where they can enjoy a game of darts with a nationally recognized dart player; Mr, Kang Byeong-Gyu.
