The 17th Conference of the Korean Society of Clinical Microbiology for 2014 was held at the Suites Hotel Namwon on June 19th and 20th.

Under the theme of "New approaches and technologies for faster clinical microbiological diagnostics", the conference addressed a variety of issues including the work patterns of microbiological labs, the fast reporting method after microbiological test, and cutting-edge molecular diagnostics for microbiological testing.

In addition, a workshop was held, associated with Korean Association of Quality Assurance for Clinical Laboratory, at which participants discussed the practice of parasitic infection diagnosis.
There was also a Korea-Japan symposium with the Japanese Society for Clinical Microbiology (JSCM) on the monitoring and diagnosis of antibiotics resistance in Korean and Japan.

At the conference, Seegene introduced its products for detecting and analyzing pathogens including viruses and bacteria causing major infectious diseases such as respiratory diseases, diarrhea, encephalomeningitis, STIs, tuberculosis and its drug resistance, and human papilloma.
