Seegene Participates in Molecular Microbiology Meeting in Australia

Mar 02, 2016

?
From March 2~3, Seegene participated in the 2016 Molecular Microbiology Meeting (MMM) held in Sydney, Australia. The MMM is an Australian academic conference where researchers, testers and clinicians in the field of molecular diagnosis can learn about and discuss the latest on diagnosis techniques in molecular microbiology. The MMM primarily deals with molecular bacteriology, diagnosis laboratory management, new viruses, parasite pathology and intestinal infections.
?
At the MMM, Seegene presented its Allplex™ testing products, which utilize MuDT™ technology (next-generation real-time PCR). It focused on presenting products that test for causal viruses, germs and parasites of gastrointestinal infections, and microorganisms that cause respiratory diseases and bacterial vaginitis.
?
On the first day of the conference, pathologist Damian Pavlik of Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (an Australian medical testing laboratory) gave a presentation entitled “Gram Free BV ? Molecular Diagnosis in Community Specimens,” which attracted a great deal of attention from the audience.
?
Due to the high level of health awareness in Australia, the Australian government devotes a sizeable budget each year to the qualitative enhancement of healthcare and the medical industry. Its focus is predominantly on disease prevention rather than treatment, resulting in a high demand for molecular diagnosis/testing for the country’s early diagnosis programs. By receiving TGA certification (the Australian version of the US’ FDA certification) for its gastrointestinal infection and respiratory infection test products, Seegene is well-placed for success in the Australian market, since gastrointestinal infection is one of the most commonly-occurring infectious diseases in the country. Seegene is also carrying out an aggressive marketing strategy in Australia to increase brand and product awareness in both state and privategeneral hospitals.
