Feb 01, 2016

?
From January 25-28, 2016, Seegene participated in Arab Health 2016, the second largest healthcare exhibition and congress in the world and the largest in the Middle East, which was held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center for four days.
?
Despite the current economic recession in the Middle East caused by falling oil prices, this year’s Arab Health showed that the Middle Eastern healthcare market continues to grow with a 10 percent increase in participants with 4,000 companies and over 130,000 healthcare experts from 163 countries. The MEDLAB exhibition for in vitro diagnosis, which Seegene participated in, keeps growing in scale each year, in fact, MEDLAB will be held as a separate standalone expo from 2017.
?
Seegene has participated in Arab Health for the past five years. Seegene’s Middle East subsidiary, located in Dubai, played a pivotal role this year.?
They not only promoted its flagship products that test for respiratory infections (Allplex™ Respiratory Panel Assays, Anyplex™ II RV16 Detection), but also introduced a new product that diagnoses MERS (Anyplex™ II MERS-CoV), a viral respiratory disease which infected a significant number of ?Korean patients in 2015.
?
During the show, two national hospitals in Saudi Arabia?the country where the first MERS outbreak occurred?have officially agreed for the use of Seegene’s MERS diagnosis product, heralding Seegene’s expansion into the Saudi Arabian diagnosis market.?
Moreover, because of the foreign population growth, the greater interest in women’s health, and the increase in the number of hospitals that diagnose using molecular testing in the Middle East including UAE, Seegene received more customer inquiries at Arab Health this year concerning its diagnosis products for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), cervical cancer (HPV genotyping and screening) and tuberculosis (TB). Furthermore, with an increasing number of new markets opening up including Iran, representatives from 150 companies in 30 countries visited the Seegene booth and expressed a desire for local Seegene branch offices.
?
The regional manager of Seegene’s Middle East office stated, “Considering the fact that entering the Middle East business market through local subsidiaries is still only possible for certain global corporations, the establishment of the Middle East subsidiary - Seegene Middle East, means that Seegene has entered the Middle Eastern market one step ahead of the competition and it is also helping to improve our corporate image and enhance our reliability to local customers.” He also said, “Many of our customers have long been dissatisfied with the fundamental limitations of the distribution and technology support of local import companies. Through Seegene Middle East, Seegene has met the customers’ expectation with a prompt response and considerate customer support. This has resulted in an increasing number of our customers recommending Seegene products and technologies to their partner organizations and connections.
?
This year, Seegene’s Middle Eastern subsidiary will be working on a fully-fledged expansion of its sales network in the Middle East by entering the markets of several countries in the region. It will keep focus on promoting its respiratory disease detection products (RV, RP, MERS-CoV) by targeting major hospitals, and it will conduct promotional events?
