President James Jeehoon Park of Seegene Middle East received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the 53rd Annual Trade Day event.

This award is presented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) to a meritorious person employed at an overseas subsidiary who has been recognized for their contributions to increased exports and pioneering of foreign markets. Seegene Middle East’s President James Jeehoon Park received the award this year in recognition of his efforts toward the establishment of Seegene’s subsidiary in Dubai as well as expansion of business areas in Africa and the Middle East.

In his acceptance remarks, Park said, “I accept this great honor as a gesture of congratulations for Seegene’s hard work and far-sighted vision for entering the Middle Eastern medical market, which maintains an average annual growth rate of over 11 percent, ahead of everyone else. As a leading company in entering the Middle East, we will maintain our reputation as a success story.”

Having established its Dubai subsidiary in 2014 for the purpose of expanding its bridgehead for entering the Middle Eastern medical market, Seegene continues to increase its supplying of diagnostic products for various types of respiratory diseases (including MERS), sexually-transmitted infections/diseases, and human papillomavirus (HPV) based on their popularity at many national hospitals and screening centers in the region.

In September 2016, Seegene accomplished the feat of having its Allplex™ Respiratory Panel Assay, recognized for its outstanding quality, selected by Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (first national hospital founded by UAE government)’s Influenza Surveillance Lab as the primary screening product. The commemoration ceremony for the 53rd Annual Trade Day is hosted by the Korea International Trade Association and sponsored by MOTIE and was held on December 5, 2016 at COEX in Seoul’s Samseong-dong district. The award presentation ceremony for recipients at overseas subsidiaries was held on January 18 at the Embassy of Korea in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
