Seegene Participates in KSLM Spring Symposium 2016

Apr 08, 2016

?
From April 8~9, Seegene participated in the KSLM ?spring symposium 2016, held at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul’s Hongeun-dong district.
?
With the slogan of “Predict the Future,” the spring symposium involved in-depth explorations of ways to respond to infectious diseases?such as MERS, which was an issue last year in Korea, and the recent Zika virus?and the role of laboratory research in combating such diseases.
?
Last year, Seegene introduced two products at this year’s symposium: one which tests for all germs, viruses, bacteria and parasites related to gastrointestinal infections (Allplex™ Gastrointestinal Panel Assay) and another which simultaneously tests for major viruses and germs that cause respiratory infections (Allplex™ Respiratory Panel Assay).
?
The Allplex line utilizes next-generation real-time PCR technology MuDT™, a technology that can analyze multiple Ct values in a single channel. With a single test, it can not only check for infection by multiple target pathogens in real-time but also identify the size of the bacteria culture. Also, due to the use of separate pathogen panels per disease/symptom, the user can simply choose the pathogen panel that best suits a patient’s condition. The Allplex Gastrointestinal and Respiratory Panel Assays received CE certification last year, which allowed Seegene to begin supplying them to large general hospitals and health centers throughout Europe. The market share for both products in foreign markets is steadily rising.
?
Representatives at Seegene’s display booth handed out potted plants to visitors in an event entitled “Making an Office Desk Mini-Garden.” The plants were a variety that are easy to take care of in offices, where most employees spend most of their time. The plant giveaway was a health initiative, as looking at green plants is known to reduce eye fatigue. Seegene also conducted several caricature-themed events and surveys on booth visitors.
