2012 Korea Association of Urogenital Tract Infection and Inflammation Conference

Apr 28, 2012

On Saturday April 28th, the Korean Association of Urogenital Tract Infection and Inflammation Conference was held in an auditorium at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. The Korea Association of Urogenital Tract Infection and Inflammation Conference is a conference mainly attended by salaried physicians working for university hospitals and self-employed physicians in urology and Ob / Gyn. Established by the Urogenital Tract Infection Research Society that was founded in 1999, the conference is celebrating its tenth anniversary since its establishment in 2003.

At this year’s conference, reports were released on multicenter research projects and the publication of the latest updated version of a Urogenital Tract Infection textbook. The conference intensively covered the prevention of infection and use of antibiotics in the field of endoscopic urologic surgery, including the latest robot-assisted surgery, the current status of AIDS and symposiums regarding antibiotic resistance.

At the conference, Seegene reported on the importance of multiplex molecular diagnosis, and discussed the usefulness of molecular diagnosis in the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections.

Meanwhile, in the "2011 Clinical Practice Guideline for Sexually Transmitted Infections,” which was published in 2011 with the support of Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Seegene’s Seeplex STD Multiplex PCR method was recorded as a major diagnosis method for clinical laboratories, and ‘multiplex PCR test’ was introduced as a means of diagnoses for several diseases and pathogens.
