Novaplex™
MPXV/OPXV plus Assay
Mpox, caused by the monkeypox virus(MPXV), a species in the genus Orthopoxvirus (OPXV), leads to symptoms such as painful rashes, fever, mucosal lesions, and lymphadenopathy. While most cases recover, it can be fatal for certain populations. A global outbreak occurred in 2022 due to Clade II. In 2024, Clade I, which has higher transmissibility and mortality, is spreading rapidly, prompting the WHO to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in August 2024.

Novaplex™ MPXV/OPXV plus Assay (RUO) detects the MPXV, as well as OPXV, the genus to which MPXV belongs, while providing additional information to distinguish and detect Clade I.
