HSV-1&2/VZV/MPXV Assay (RUO)
MPXV (Monkeypox virus), HSV-1 & HSV-2 (Herpes simplex virus), and VZV (Varicella-zoster virus) are significant viral pathogens associated with skin lesions and mucocutaneous ulcers. MPXV, traditionally endemic in parts of Africa, has gained global attention due to recent outbreaks in 2022-2023 across Europe, the Americas, and other regions involving clades 1 and 2, with varying severity and transmission routes. HSV-1 and HSV-2 remain widespread, causing oral and genital herpes, and continue to be leading viral infections worldwide, with sporadic surges in new cases. VZV, which causes chickenpox and shingles, remains largely controlled in vaccinated populations but still contributes to outbreaks in under-vaccinated communities. These viruses share similar clinical presentations but differ in transmission, epidemiology, and complications, making accurate diagnosis critical.

Novaplex™ HSV-1&2/VZV/MPXV Assay is intended for use by qualified and trained clinical laboratory personnel specifically instructed and trained in the techniques of PCR and in vitro diagnostic procedures.
