Seegene receives NYF Special International Award at the 2014 Korea Business Communications Awards

On December 3, 2014, Seegene’s ad campaign on cervical cancer received the Special International Award from New York Festivals (NYF) at the 2014 Korea Business Communications Awards. The award ceremony was held at the international conference room of the Korea Press Center and was supervised by the Korea Newsletter Association. The most representative award ceremony in Korea in advertising, it gives out awards each year in the IBS and NYF categories.

The advertisement produced by Seegene with the message “Cervical cancer, protect your family with an HPV DNA test” was given a high score for its public interest component and effective emotional portrayal of the dangers of cancer. The creativity in the depiction of inter-generational continuity through the image of a daughter’s wedding especially stood out.?
Director Seung-goo Kang, who accepted the award, stated “this is probably the first time that a company which specializes in diagnosis has put out an advertisement on domestic terrestrial television. I had no idea that our CEO’s idea of making a public interest advertisement on women’s health would culminate in such a great honor.” Mr. Kang went on to say about the ad’s theme that “in this day and age when many women are concerned about cervical cancer, there are so many unfortunate cases where ignorance about its diagnosis or nature has kept many from receiving proper and timely treatment. I hope that all women can benefit from Seegene’s HPV product and be free of cervical cancer for good.”
