Seegene invited to give lecture at JoongAng Ilbo SM health lecture series "Let’s Talk about Women: Season 4"

The series of lectures highlight the possibility that anyone can become a ‘master.’ Lectures are given by top domestic health experts from a variety of fields of specialty on general knowledge on health issues.?
Seegene was invited as a speaker at the lecture series which held on November 29, “Let’s Talk about Women: Season 4.” The Seegene lecture, entitled “Preventing Cervical Cancer and the Need for Lifelong Management,” was presented by Dr. Jong-kee Kim, the director of the Seegene Life Science Institute. In his lecture, Dr. Kim explained real-life clinical examples in an easy way for the audience to understand.?
Cervical cancer, which is most frequently caused by HPV (Human papillomavirus) infection, has a latent period of anywhere from several years to decades from the point of HPV infection until development into a full-fledged cancer. Dr. Kim emphasized in his lecture that cervical cancer could be prevented through regular examinations and monitoring of HPV infection and stressed the importance of regular checkups. Because cervical cancer has no early observable symptoms, there are many cases in which the cancer has already progressed significantly by the time women seek out medical attention for noticeable symptoms. The lecture emphasized that above all, the easiest and most economical way of preventing cervical cancer was to have regular examinations and check-ups.
One female member who attended the lecture noted, “After listening to today’s lecture, I feel that I should hurry and receive my annual physical checkup, which I’d been putting off with the excuse that I’m too busy, even though I’m eligible for a state-funded checkup this year.”?
