Anyplex™ II STI-5 Detection is a multiplex assay using Seegene's proprietary TOCE™ and DPO™ technologies that enables the detection and discrimination of five pathogens (Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma and Trichomonas) underlying a variety of common sexually transmitted diseases (STD).
These diverse pathogens are often found in association with other pathogenic agents, such as the CT and NG. Currently acceptable microbiological methods for the diagnoses of these infectious agents in symptomatic patients are often slow, with low sensitivity and specificity. In addition, these methods detect a single pathogen per assay, requiring multiple analyses in order to identify co-infections, frequently resulting in misdiagnoses. In contrast, Anyplex™ II STI-5 Detection can readily provide infection profiles with high sensitivity and speciticity, even in low-level infections and asymptomatic patients. Anyplex™ II STI-5 Detection provides comprehensive information to clinicians who need to rapidly diagnose infection statuses and customize therapeutic treatments for patients. This reduces disease burdens, risks of transmission, and the time taken for a successful treatment.
Anyplex™ II STI-5 Detection represents a new class of multiplex molecular diagnostics. Multiple quantitations by real-time PCR generate bacterial pathogenesis information and provide appropriate patient treatment guidelines. Anyplex™ II STI-5 Detection allows patient specific treatment possible.
