Simultaneous detection and identification of
parasitic gastrointestinal pathogens using multiplex real-time PCR
Gastroenteritis patients show similar signs and symptoms. Gastroenteritis can be caused by wide range of bacterial, viral, and/or parasitic pathogens. Parasitic infections caused by protozoa and helminths are responsible for substantial morbidity and mortality worldwide.
The current screening method, microscopy, is laborious, to error-prone and it requires substantial expertise. Detection of suspected pathogens by microscopy may require several courses and stains.
Allplex™ GI-Helminth(I) Assay allows detection of 1 protozoa and 8 helminths which are highly pathogenic parasites. Based on Seegene’s proprietary MuDT™ technology, this assay reports multiple Ct values of each pathogen in a single channel.
