| Seeplex® MTB ACE Detection uses multi-target (IS6110 and MPB64) PCR for specific detection of M. tuberculosis. Insertion sequence IS6110 is inserted into MTB genome with existing 1~20 copy per genome which advantages detecting M. Tuberculosis. However, several M. tuberculosis strains that lack this insertion sequence have been isolated1). To prevent false-negative results caused by lack of this insertion sequence, Seeplex® MTB ACE Detection simultaneously amplifies conserved sequence, MPB64 genes, exist one in each IS6110 and MTB genome 2). This product is a simple and fast method for detection of MTB with single PCR, having higher specificity than PCR-hybridization and high sensitivity as nested PCR.

Testing for IS6110 & MPB64 genes
IS6110 is an insertion sequence present in the MTB genome. As most MTB have one to twenty copies of it, its presence is a useful indicator in tuberculosis tests. There have, however, been reports of MTB strains without this gene, and in such a case, the accuracy of diagnosis can be enhanced by testing simultaneously for IS6110 and MPB64, which is a conserved sequence present in single copy in the MTB genome.
This product is designed to detect both genes, significantly improving sensitivity. |
