We, Seegene, Inc. are a global company that specializes in molecular diagnosis. Based on a world class technology, the core technology in multiplex molecular diagnostic product was developed through which we are quickly expanding our horizon to the global stage.
Although we are a venture company, both our business yield and profitability had always been very high. Revenue in 2009 was 13.1 trillion Korean Won with pure profit of 4.7 trillion Korean Won, not least of which was our export, it made up 55% of our total revenue (Figure 1, 2). |

ACP™, DPO™ and READ Technology (real time diagnostic technology) make possible simultaneous testing of 10’s and 100’s of pathogens with just one sample collection and makes tailored diagnosis for each patient. Both patients and doctors may feel comfortable assured with such an advanced technology.
Testing for disease in 21st century is transforming fast to molecular diagnosis. Market for molecular diagnosis in 2009 is estimated to be 900 million USD, and is anticipated to grow rapidly to 1.55 trillion USD in 2014 and 4.25 trillion USD in 2019 (Jain PharmaBiotech, 2010).
With our technology and know-how, we had released dozens of diagnostic products including products diagnosing for respiratory disease, H1N1 virus, STD, tuberculosis, blood poisoning, human papilloma virus, and diarrhea These products are in use in Korea’s 50 university hospitals and medical clinics and are being exported to over 1000 organizations in 40 countries.

There are more than 510 Korea’s and international academic publications that quote Seegene’s technology (highest among Korea’s biotechnology companies) and the company had acquired in succession the approval for products in diagnostic reagent in Canada and 20 EU countries, Ministry of Health and Welfare’s HT certification, and Europe CE certification.
In May 2010, the company was awarded with IR52 Young Shil Chang’s award (regarded as the most prestigious award in the industry) and was also elected as World’s Best Product for 2009 by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy. The company was also awarded with award for ethical business conduct, and Korea’s best businessman’s award. It is being acknowledged in Korea as a role model for technology and ethical business.
Seegene’s technology is most rapid and simple compared to other PCR based molecular diagnostics and due to our ability to test for multi pathogens simultaneously, our technology is also a very cost effective technology. In addition, recent foreign publications from government organizations and research institutions evaluated that Seegene’s diagnostic products are most excellent among other methodologies. |

We are planning to increase our world market share to 7% by 2012 with our main diagnostic products and in turn grow as one of World’s top 10 companies specializing in molecular diagnosis – therefore are attacking the market strategically.
Based on our noticeable revenue growth in each year, we had been tried to be a world leader in the field of molecular diagnosis and will be one of country’s major contributors in the country’s economic growth. We will maintain our vision of becoming one of the most respectable organizations in the world and will lead the way of Korea’s path by becoming one of the mainspring in molecular diagnosis field. |
