1. Multiple targets in a single fluorescence channel
Measuring fluorescence signals was limited using current real-time PCR due to interferences between amplified DNAs; thereby simultaneous multiplexing detection always has been a challenge in Molecular Diagnostics. As oppose to current real-time PCR, TOCE™ technology enables to the screening and identification of multiple pathogens simultaneously in a single fluorescence channel.
By current melting curve analysis methods, temperature differences are often observed among DNAs that have high sequence variation, the results in a constraint for clinical diagnostics where accurate test results are critical. However, TOCE™ technology is designated not to be affected by sequence variation; therefore it guarantees consistent Tm values.

The general PCR needs additional processes for translating the results but because the Real-time PCR can translate the results in real-time, it is convenience for the users and also can save testing time. In addition, with just one Multiplex Real-time PCR test procedure, multiple microbe and mutations can be identified all at the same time. This in turn can save cost drastically against running separate tests for each of these subjects.
